about

The song follows the theme of never knowing how the smallest interaction with someone can impact their lives. From a complete stranger, a neighbor or your closest friend.
The story of Strangers is rather unique in that it is the narrative of a lead character going about their average lives, receiving advice from an unseen person and then carrying that over to their personal life and passing it on.

There are three people singing this song and each voice represents a different part of the story. We have a character that sings the verses, a character for the choruses, and a character for the bridge, and they all sing their story in their respective part of the song until the last chorus where all the characters come together to adopt the main idea of the song.

lyrics

Walkin’ down the street of Fifth and Pike
You see that guy whos there all the time
He asks you for another cigarette
You say sure what’s your name in return
He said come on over have a seat
Lemme give you advice on how to live your life

Strangers all around
You don’t know if they’re up or down
Don’t go losin’ yourself now
You got a lotta livin’ you just haven’t found

Run into another friend unseen
It’s Mary who lives down the street
She said i haven’t seen you in a while
My husband just left and he took my child

Strangers all around
You don’t know if they’re up or down
Don’t go losin’ yourself now
You got a lotta livin’ you just haven’t found

Don’t look back to the past and see
That you’re meant to be right here with me
Take my hand tell me your last name
You won’t be the same ever again
You have spent your life workin’ on someone else’s dime
Feels like freedom is just a crime
Don’t let people take away
From the glory you have made yourself

Call your best friend on the phone
He’s always high and all alone
Hopin’ to find himself a girl
That can take his hand and show him the world

Strangers all around
You don’t know if they’re up or down
Don’t go losin’ yourself now
You got a lotta livin’ you just haven’t found
